China boosts the growth of acrylonitrile demand

in recent years, the world acrylonitrile production capacity has increased steadily, from 5.95 million tons/year in 2001 to 5.965 million tons/year in 2004. In 2005, the production capacity was about 6.14 million tons/year. In 2005, the operating rate of acrylonitrile plant remained above 85%, slightly higher than the operating rate of acrylonitrile fiber and ABS production, but lower than the operating rate of about 90% in 2004. The global acrylonitrile production increased from 4.85 million tons in 2001 to 4.95 million tons in 2002, 5.219 million tons in 2004 and 5.24 million tons in 2005

according to the analysis of Asahi Kasei company of Japan, the global demand for acrylonitrile decreased by 0.8% in 2005, reaching 5.027 million tons. The demand for acrylonitrile in Asia increased by 2.5% to 2.95 million tons. According to analysis, in 2005, only China's demand increased by 11.4%, reaching about 1.15 million tons. The world demand for acrylonitrile will reach about 5.5 million tons in 2010

in recent years, acrylonitrile units around the world have also been newly built and expanded, with supply and demand basically balanced

the proportion of acrylic fiber will decline

it is expected that the supply and demand balance will remain in the next few years. As the production cost in the United States is higher than that in Asia, the acrylonitrile market will continue to be rationalized, and the future expansion will still be concentrated in Asia

in the downstream demand field, acrylic fiber continues to be the main user of acrylonitrile, but its proportion in global acrylonitrile consumption will drop from 48% in 2005 to 44% in 2010. ABS demand for acrylonitrile will rise from 31% to 36%. In the past few years, the production of acrylic fiber in China has increased steadily, and the production of acrylic fiber will continue to increase from 662000 tons/year in 2004 and 740000 tons/year in 2005 to 830000 tons/year in 2006

however, the acrylic fiber industry continues to face greater development pressure, and its price is relatively expensive due to the rising price of propylene. Although acrylic fiber has excellent warmth retention and bright colors, it faces price competition from polyester and cotton. In addition, due to its limited end use, its demand growth is also limited

according to PCI prediction, the annual growth rate of acrylic fiber demand will be 0.7% by 2014

in 2006, ABS will lead the growth of acrylonitrile demand and dare to chase the first square; For advanced semiconductor materials, high-performance titanium alloys and special aluminum alloys that are still in the initial stage, the annual growth rate of ABS demand fell from 5.1% in 2004 to 4.2% in 2005

China's import dependence shows a downward trend

the production capacity in 2003 and 2004 was 734000 tons and 800000 tons respectively. Sinopec and BP jointly established a 260000 T/a acrylonitrile plant in SECCO Petrochemical Complex in Shanghai Chemical Industry Park in March, 2005, bringing the number of domestic acrylonitrile production enterprises to 11. By the end of 2005, China's total acrylonitrile production capacity reached about 1.06 million T/A

in recent years, the supply of acrylonitrile has increased significantly, the self-sufficiency rate has increased, and the import volume shows a downward trend. The self-sufficiency rate of acrylonitrile in China has increased from 61.3% in 2003 to 69.1% in 2004 and 76% in 2005. After harmless decomposition, more than 30 kinds of raw materials such as scrap steel, non-ferrous metals and plastics can be recycled for two times. Acrylonitrile has become one of the varieties with the highest self-sufficiency rate in synthetic fiber raw materials

China's demand for acrylonitrile continues to grow, with an annual growth rate of more than 10% for ABS and 3% for acrylic fiber

at present, the main consumption field of acrylonitrile in China is acrylic fiber, accounting for about 80% of the total demand; Followed by abs/san resin, acrylamide and nitrile rubber. According to statistics, in 2005, the production capacity and apparent consumption of acrylic fiber in China reached 799000 tons/year and 1172000 tons/year respectively, and the demand of acrylic fiber for acrylonitrile reached 740000 tons; The production capacity of ABS resin reaches 1million tons/year, and the consumption of acrylonitrile is about 320000 tons; Acrylamide consumption acrylonitrile 100000 tons; San resin, nitrile rubber and other aspects will consume about 180000 tons of acrylonitrile. In 2005, the total demand for acrylonitrile in China reached about 1.15 million tons. There is still a certain gap between demand and existing production capacity, and there is still development potential

the growth of demand has prompted the continuous expansion of acrylonitrile and polyimide PI in China. This year, the polymer plant of Daqing Refining and chemical company will expand its acrylonitrile unit, and its annual capacity is expected to expand from 50000 tons to 80000 tons. With the expansion of other devices, it is estimated that in 2006, the production capacity of acrylonitrile in China will reach 1.2 million tons/year, and the output will be about 920000 tons/year. There is still a slight gap in domestic supply

acrylonitrile production enterprises should strengthen the exchange and cooperation with domestic and foreign science and technology and production enterprises, speed up the pace of upgrading synthetic technology, increase the research and development of acrylonitrile derivatives, adjust the structure of acrylonitrile downstream products, gradually form a technological, powerful and characteristic acrylonitrile production enterprise, form refined and serialized products, increase economic benefits, avoid market risks, and improve competitiveness
